Heavy Lifting 2.0
SmarterCrowds.com reveals the personal stories of the people who are building the first financial company in the world that is managed by the collective intelligence of smart consumers. A helluva job for such a small team. Hear their stories. Feel their pain and joy. And join them!
Let's Talk
In Klout we publish a list of all financial, techno, marketing and investment groups aroun the world, which we have some form of contact. Hopefully we can exchange ideas, solutions and other valauble stuff with them.
How can we help them become better, so their output will improve our value add for our members. The classic win-win sitaution.
Reaching Out
The ultimate goal of our projects is to give financial consumers an experience they value more than any other experience they had with a financial company. To achieve this, we need the input of non-financial creatives, thinkers, who are willing to come up with new ideas and perspectives. In the Mood Board we can go wild!
Contribute To Others
A lot of people are doing a lot of great stuff in their website. They look at the world in a really smart way. We feel that our members can benefit from their expertise. But instead of asking them to join the GroupIQ (they are more than welcome), we feel it is more appropiate to visit these original minds on their hometurf.

RLE-Curacao, March 9, 2010 --- Today is the birthday of my father who passed away some two years ago. I am sitting and working at his desk. It is the same desk he worked at since the 18th century. My dad was a strict and principled man, who - I remember it well - teached us the right spelling of words. We - my sister and me - were around five. He made us lie down at the desk and write the words while he dictated them. I cannot say that I liked it - will not rewrite history here, but it served its purpose. Later he mellowed down a lot. But I can remember the good feeling that I had when I did it right. Doing it right gives a great feeling. Yepp, it totally compensates for the frustration of the learning curve.
Today, I worked with Sebastian Emerenciana at the desk of my father. For some time, we tried to setup a Facebook connection between Facebook and the GroupIQ. It didn't work and it didn't work ...... and it kept on not working. Outside an big aguana falls out of a mango tree. I was fed up, but at the desk of my father, you do not quit. You keep on doing it, till it is right. Bammmm. Sebastian found the missing link. He is great. Of course, we only had achieved just a small feature. Facebook members can now easily register as members of the GroupIQ (community software by JomSocial).
I love these small moments of pure joy. Totally a YESSSSS moment. Life is like American Football. Any 10 yards progress is a victory. Can't wait till tomorrow. Another victory around the corner!!?

Wired Magazine published an interesting article on a Harvard crowdsource project. We see it as the ultimate proof that crowdsourcing and wisdom-of-crowds are totally arrived in full fashion. The new kid on the block is here to stay and .... it will be a force to reckon with. The Harvard Clinical Science Centre opens the fight against Type 1 diabetes to the public at large using a innovation contest to challenge people (the crowd) to come up with solutions. It combines seemingly opposite forces as competition and collaboration.
“{It} is an effective way to solve scientific problems in the business world,” said Harvard Business School assistant professor and co-leader on the project Karim R. Lakhani, Ph.D. “According to my research, innovation contests...

Making the transformation from a solution-driven asset manager to an entrepreneur in financial services based on a totally new approach has been a long, and surprising road. The mistakes I made are tribute to the fact that I can be smart and dumb at the same time. After building the skeleton of the project - 10+ websites of four business labels - we are finally starting to look outwards to other smart minds.
